Niger ACReSAL Distributes Farm Inputs to Farmers’ Cooperatives in the State.
The event marked another step in the state’s commitment to restoring degraded landscapes, improving food security, and supporting rural livelihoods under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes Project.
Speaking at the distribution, Niger StateACReSAL Project coordinator Mall Raji Shehu Adam, Represented by the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer,Mall. Nma Idris explained that the intervention was designed to reach farmers directly and equip them to cope with the challenges of climate change and ecological degradation.
The Objective of the Mission is part of ACReSAL’s broader goal to: Increase agricultural productivity through the use of improved and climate-smart inputs,Restore degraded lands and promote sustainable land management practices and Strengthen community resilience and improve household incomes for smallholder farmers.
Items distributed included certified seeds, organic fertilizers, agrochemicals, and essential farming tools.
Project officials urged all beneficiaries to, Utilize the inputs judiciously for the 2026 farming season and strictly for agricultural purposes, Adopt best practices such as timely planting, proper fertilizer application, and soil conservation techniques as trained by extension agents and Work collectively through their cooperatives to share knowledge, monitor progress, and ensure transparency.
The support you are receiving today is an investment,” an ACReSAL representative stated. “We expect to see increased yields, healthier soils, and stronger communities at the end of this season.”
