NIGER – ACReSAL CONDUCTED A 3 DAY CAPACITY BUILDING ON COMMUNITY REVOLVING FUND (CRF) IMPLEMENTATION AND PROCEDURES FOR CRF STAKEHOLDERS


Niger State Project Management Unit of Agro – Climatic Resilience in Semi – Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project conducted Capacity Building on Community Revolving Fund (CRF) Implementation and procedures for CRF Stakeholders (LGPMC, CRFMC, CBAs, BOTs and CIGs) of ten (10) benefiting communities in the two Micro Watershed of Mokwa in Mokwa Local Government and Babban Rami in Mashegu Local Government Areas in the state.
The State Project Management Unit (SPMU) lead by the State Project Coordinator, Mal. Shehu Raji Adam facilitated the training for the stakeholders in order to prepare them for the successful implementation of the scheme.
The participants were taken through the overview of the ACReSAL project, the concept of CRF, Financial Management, Community Procurement, Development of Community Business Plan, Mainstreaming gender and vulnerable groups, Group Dynamics, Sustainability of Community Revolving Fund, Grievance Redress and Management and Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation. Other important areas covered during the training are the roles and responsibilities of LGPMC, CRFMC, CBAs BoTs and CIGs. The training was aimed at equipping the stakeholders for a hitch free implementation of the scheme in the State.
Responding separately, the Directors Administration of the two LGAs who are the Local Government Project Management Committee (LGPMC) Chairmen called on the participants to use the training opportunity to understand the CRF operations very well so as to achieve the desired objectives of the project. They appreciated the effort of the ACReSAL and assured the project of LGPMC’s full support and monitoring of the project activities in their respective Local government areas.
